Course Overview

Participants have the fantastic opportunity to learn from a world renowned master clinician of outstanding expertise and experience. This course will outline the contemporary surgical and prosthetic concepts in management of teeth and implants with a view to achieving optimum long-term aesthetics, durability and stability. The emphasis will be on the clinical management and an understanding and application of the biological factors that influence our treatment outcomes. Management of bone, soft tissue and prosthetics contours and materials all play a key part in the aesthetic outcome and long-term stability of soft tissue aesthetics.

What Is The Format Of The Course?

Examination, diagnosis and systematic treatment planning

Mucogingival surgery and pink aesthetics:

  • Regenerative periodontal surgery
  • Crown lengthening - diagnosis, planning and management
  • Root coverage and connective tissue grafting/tissue substitutes

Implants in the aesthetic zone:

  • Biological concepts and literature review
  • Soft tissue integration and biocompatibility
  • Surgical & prosthetic keys to success
  • Evolution of surgical and prosthetic concepts and where are now
  • Flap design & soft tissue management, roll flaps, connective tissue grafting
  • Abutment & prosthetic management & design
  • GBR, bone & soft tissue grafting/augmentation

Clinical and technical considerations in the digital/analogue workflow for definitive restorations:

  • Material choice for definitive restorations

Management of failing teeth:

  • Immediate placement/loading/provisionalisation
  • Extraction socket and soft tissue management
  • GBR, bone & soft tissue grafting/augmentation
  • Socket grafting/ ridge preservation
  • Delayed placement Single and multiple teeth

Interdisciplinary management of failed implants, severe alveolar defects and periodontally compromised teeth in the aesthetic zone:

  • Failed implants and/or grafts and management of complex defects in the aesthetic zone Aesthetic management of periodontally compromised teeth

Participant case discussion:

  • Troubleshooting and referrals
  • Case, patient and lab communication management

Meet the Lecturers

Tidu Mankoo

Tidu Mankoo

Dr Tidu Mankoo is a general dental practitioner based in Windsor, UK. He gained his BDS from the University of Bristol in 1981 and has since established a highly respected private and referral practice. 

Dr Mankoo has a special interest in implant, restorative and aesthetic dentistry, with a particular focus on complex cases. His expertise encompasses both surgical and prosthetic aspects of treatment.

Dr Mankoo's professional affiliations include active membership in the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the Association of Dental Implantology (UK), and the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO). He is also a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

In academia, Dr Mankoo holds a position as Visiting Professor at the University of Catalunya, Barcelona. He served as President of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry from 2009 to 2010 and is a founder and Past President of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. His contributions to the field extend to his role on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry.

Recognised for his teaching abilities, Dr Mankoo has numerous publications to his name. He is a sought-after speaker on the international circuit, particularly in the areas of implants, aesthetic dentistry, and the management of complex cases
